Let me ask you…

How often do you speak about your great-grandparents?

I’m guessing either never or if genealogy comes up in conversation.

How about your grandparents?

Once in a blue.

Your parents?

Most likely often; you either think of them often or talk about them.

So all it takes is two generations to be forgotten.

Think about that for a second.

After two generations, when you are gone, you’re now just a name on Genealogy.com

Forgive me…

I don’t mean to sound depressing, but we put so much pressure on ourselves and put so much energy into the things that really don’t matter at the end of the day.

When all we should be focused on and cultivating is right in front of us.

The only person who will remember you, talk about you, and cry for you years later.

Your kids.

The impact you have on your kids, good and bad IS your legacy.

To everyone else, you’re a faded memory.

So if there’s anything good you want to leave in this world…

Any impact you want to make.

Anything you want to be remembered by.

Lay it all out and put it into them.

And then let them continue that positive cycle.

That’s your legacy.

It’s not perfect.

It’s messy at times.

We can’t always control the outcomes, but we can control our reactions and actions that gives us the best chance for the outcomes we want.

Ask God for wisdom and guidance.

He didn’t create you to prove your value to the world.

He already made you valuable to the world so you can create.

In your corner,

Greg
