I've watched all the YouTube gurus.

Tried the meditations.

The journaling.

The manifesting stuff.

All of it.

None of it stuck for me.

Maybe I'm not built for that. Or maybe I don't need it.

Here's what I do believe.

We're all running on some kind of energy (frequency), and we project it whether we mean to or not.

That energy pulls people toward us or pushes them away.

I don't call it good energy or bad energy.

It's just different energy, and it moves with your physical health and your mental attitude.

So when mine shifts, who notices first?

The people living inside the same four walls.

My energy goes sideways and my kids feel it. Then my wife feels it.

And when husband and wife are bouncing in two different directions, you can bet those kids are bouncing too.

Let’s call that ‘energy slop’.

Here's what I discovered…

I can't fix what I can't see.

Without something to actually look at, the days mesh together, and I turn into Bill Murray in Groundhog Day.

He seems like a fun guy to hang with. But I'd rather be on the couch with my son watching Ghostbusters.

So I started tracking it.

My week is broken into blocks.

Work.

Health.

Kid time.

And spouse blocks, which I'm still working on protecting better than I do.

Inside each block I write what I'm actually doing.

When it's done, it gets a check mark.

Then I rate my energy 1 to 10.

That's the whole system.

Now I know where my time went and how I felt while it was going.

No guessing at nine o'clock at night.

No lying there wondering if I did enough, judging myself. (Queue the bad energy!)

Right now it's a Google Sheet and my calendar.

Nothing fancy.

Maybe later I build something slick with AI.

For now I just have to do the thing.

It's hard to improve what you don't track.

If you want better results at home, skip the affirmations this week.

Block your days, write down what you are doing, and put a number on how you felt doing it.

Seven days. Then look at it.

In your corner,

Greg

P.S. If your number is a 4 three days in a row, that's not a character flaw. It’s just data. Go to bed earlier, change your diet, take something off your plate, and check it again Friday.
